Baptism and new President
What's up party people!
Sorry I didn't write last week, my secretary and editor was on vacation in Lake Powell.
The past couple weeks have been good! We baptized Elisabeth and she got to be baptized with her brother too! Their mom is a member returning to activity so their cousin did the ordinances and all we did was teach but it was good! She was very worried about the baptismal interview and we kept teasing her that it was 85 questions but then we went over them with her and the whole time she was holding her Book of Mormon incase she needed it to help with the answers. Then, they all got up on Sunday and bore their testimonies and it was really sweet.
We also got a new mission President this week. His name is President Snyder and he doesn't speak ANY portugese. He is fluent in Spanish and says he wasn't expecting to be called to Brazil at all. We had a conference with him and he spoke English the whole time and we had translators for the Brazilians but it was hard to hear so I ended up translating a lot for the elders sitting next to me. It was kinda hard but also made me realize how far I've come in the language. Sometimes Portuguese is more easy for me than English.
This week I've been studying lots in the Old Testament about the prophecies about the Book of Mormon and also the prophecies that we only see fulfilled in the Book of Mormon and it's really just shown me that if someone actually believes the Bible to be the word of God, they are waiting for more. If they understand the Bible, they know it's not complete. The two testaments (3 actually) work together to give us as much as we need at this point and one day soon we will be blessed with even more! (2 Nephi 29) God loves us enough to speak with us and he loves us enough to call prophets to lead and guide us. I testify and will die testifying that the Book of Mormon is true and I hope you all know that I love this church and our living prophet. If you haven't read in a while, go read. If you haven't prayed in a while, go pray. God misses you and understands your problems and troubles.
I leave these things and seal my humble testimony in our Savior Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
Love, Elder McKee
