Double Weekly

Image
Hello everyone! Sorry I missed last week... but now you get one that's twice as fun! The past couple weeks have been pretty hectic. but we got transfer calls and Elder Morata and I are together in the same ward for another transfer, so that's good news! Both of my housemates are leaving which is gonna be sad because I love them, but they're good missionaries so it makes sense that God needs them to reach more people.  This week we did a zone activity where we all spent an hour in each ward and everyone knocked different neighborhoods to find as many people as we could and it was fun! For every ward we switched companions and it was a pretty crazy time, but it was very spirit filled!  Elder Morata and I also had to make a facebook video and I had an idea I was really excited about for it, but Elder Morata also had an idea about it. The issue is that Elder Morata's idea made me be in front of the camera and I really don't like that video. But it's alright I guess....

Josh sent a bunch of pictures this week, but no weekly email.   Elder Morata and Josh with a dog In their garage, which has a bunch of junk. Crawling thru a tunnel in a members house. Josh learned to lasso, and tied up this elder to the railing. Fattest cat ever seen. Another Elder power washing a driveway, and wrote Josh a message. Elder Jackson

HAPPY PDAY!! This week was not the most eventful, but here's a rundown so you dont have to read the whole email :)  - Church Tour - Elder Jackson - Bike Day - Banjo :) We took our friend Rob on a tour of the church and showed him the baptismal font that hes gonna be baptized in (Hopefully Sunday afternoon, I'll keep you updated) and he bore his testimony and it was so powerful! Then his girlfriend, Rachel, bore hers about the peace she's felt since coming back to church. It was a very spiritual time. I don't actually have anything to say about Elder Jackson, he just wanted to be included in my email. Elder Morata and I took a day and just rode bikes. That's how this mission used to be, before all the reassigned missionaries got here without bikes. So, they still encourage us to take a day every once in awhile to ride bikes. it was a lot of fun, but some people would rev their engines right next to us and smoke us out with a big old cloud of diesel smoke. When they d...

WHOOPS

Hello everyone! This week Elder Morata and I decided to not push as hard and to give our friends a chance to recognize for themselves that they want the gospel. So, we didn't teach as much, but miracles happened! Our friend Bruce has some serious psychological issues to the point that for a while missionaries stopped talking to him because he was a little psychotic, but he has gotten so much help and he is steadily improving! A while ago he was assaulted and suffered some serious head trauma on top of his preexisting conditions. But, while meeting with him it came up that he didn't ask for anything in his prayers, he just thanked God for what he had, so I invited him to ask for something specific and look for an answer to that prayer. When we met with him yesterday he said that he prayed that his rent could be taken care of so he could get caught up and the next day someone reached out for a financial assistance for crime and they are going to pay all of his back rent! So, ther...

A really good week 2!

This week was wild, start to finish. Let's just go through the week. MONDAY: Today was P-day so we did all our shopping and played some games with our zone at the church, and that was a lot of fun :)  TUESDAY: We went and talked to Janet, who really loves the spirit we bring and needs some stability in her life, so we help as much as we can. Then, we went to Michael and Amy's, who have 4 little kids who are WILD. Those are always the most chaotic lessons and they never really end on time because they are always yelling at their kids... But, a tender mercy was that randomly at 4:30 that morning she started doing family history and she was super excited when we told her we could get someone to help her get really good at it. WEDNESDAY: On Wednesday we did a lot of knocking and met Ryan! But, we went back on Friday and his family told us he wasn't Interested and wouldn't let us see him. THURSDAY: Thursday was a day of study. We didn't do any teaching but we knocked for...
