Setting Apart
Josh’s Missionary Setting Apart Blessing January 5, 2021
Stake Presidency asked us, as a family, to give Josh advice as he starts his mission.
Mom: Personality that draws people in. You’ll do great wherever you go. Don’t change who are. Be the Missionary you were meant to be.
Dad: you are prepared!! But don’t feel too prepared. Keep an open mind and be ready to Make Your Own Mission. Each Path is your own. The things that hit you in the heart are the things that make it hard. YOU ARE READY! You will have miracles.
Jake: God is no respecter of persons….All Gods promises are available to all. D&C 4:4….You aren’t here to plant seeds, you are here to Harvest. God accepts your efforts. Go out there ready to harvest. Grit your teeth and get to work.
Joci: I’ve never regretted a decision I’ve made if God is pushing me to do it. True joy comes from following God.
Malena: Missions are hard. Hard times bring you closer to God. Bad things happen to good people to make them great people. God is there to help us and help others find true joy.
Andy: “From the short time I’ve known you, you’ve been a hard worker.” Do service, you will do good wherever you go. God needs you.
Advice from President Christensen: 1) Always be receptive to what the Lord tells you to do. 2) Your mission isn’t going to be like what you thought it’s be like. He will do with you, if you allow Him, exactly what He needs you to do. You are set apart from the world to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Stay close to the Lord, and follow the Spirit. You are on the Lords time! Enjoy it and Be happy. “Are you ready to have your life changed?” Josh: “Absolutely.”
