Broken Elbow

Hello everyone! Sorry, i didn't wrote last week, my editor and secretary took a paid vacation to Hawaii and didn't tell me.

This week we had transfers, and I was so excited because President told me I was going to train! He said my companion was from Argentina but that's all we knew. Well, turns out Elder Cuevas already has 8 months on the mission, so I'm not training but I am teaching Portuguese! His first day here in Brazil we were on our way to the supermarket to get some things so we could lunch, and he hit the front brakes too hard (they're really sensitive) and he flipped right over the front and dislocated his elbow. We ran to the clinic and I had to use my very very limited Spanish to translate and help him understand what they were saying (thanks Sr. Macdon) and we were moved from the clinic to the hospital where they relocated it and put him in a soft cast.
He's doing better now but, he's still in a lot of pain so pray for him!
The doctors kept him over night but wouldn't let me stay so I called President and ended up staying the night alone at home and going to get him the next morning. It was weird!

Isaiah 55:8-9 says
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
I thought about this in the hospital and then again today. We don't know why we have trials or why we need to do these things that are so hard. But we do know that God knows what he's doing. We should always trust in him and he will help us get through what we are going through. What's important is following the prompting of the spirit and holding on to the "hope for a better world" (Ether 12:4)

I love you all and hope you have a great week! And don't be afraid to write me emails or send me messages!  mckee.joshua@missionary.org

Love, Elder McKee

Elder Cuevas' elbow

They went to a park and noticed a lot of people, so they decided to talk to people.  They didn't realize it was all the people from the catholic church who were celebrating Palm Sunday.  They didn't have much luck, but did take a picture by this egg for Easter.
Elder Mendes and his new companions.
