Chaos, Chaos, ?

Hello everyone! This one will be a little shorter but it was a good week! Lots of ups and downs, but it was good because the downs are where we learn! This week was transfers so now I'm in a trio with my old companion, Elder Rechetnicou and now Elder Raposo as well! Hes from north Brazil and was originally called to Argentina so he knows how to help learn a language. It'll be a lot of fun! I got permission to paint a timeline and history of all the standard works on a wall in our house and let me tell ya, that's gonna be a hefty project. haha But, it's so so cool to see how they all work together and show God's hand in the history of the world! Something funny that happened this week is as I was trying to do about 1000 things at once and our ward mission leader we were working with stopped me and said "if I had to describe you in 3 words, the first two would be chaos.” It's accurate and I laughed about it. I'm so sorry I don't have the picture situa...

Hi Kitten!

So, this week was fun! I met some awesome people, got yelled at by a man because I didn’t understand what he said when he flirted with me, and saw a parrot! This week we did lots of visits with members and at one point we were leaving they're house and all 4 houses in that building (because there are a bunch of houses crammed into one building) were members! As we were leaving some of the other families came and said hi to us and then the others showed up. I told them it was kinda funny that this building can hold more members than the church building right now and asked if we could do sacrament here next week.  As we were walking away this guy (I think) said something along the lines of "oi gatinho" (hi kitten) and I didn't understand him so I said "opa boa noite!" And crossed the street and he stood on the other sidewalk and yelled at us about the church for like 4 minutes. Neither of us said anything but we had our masks on and I whispered to Elder Rechet...

Yes Ammon, I am in Brazil!

Hello everyone! This was such a good week!!  We got to leave the house almost every day, and I got to meet so many people and see so much of the area! It's beautiful and I love it here. There is graffiti and big murals on all the walls here and I have pictures but they're on my camera and as of right now I have no way of getting them off there, so sorry everyone no pictures this week. This week we discovered that the pizza place next to us was having a deal on their pizzas so we got two large pizzas for around 13 dollars and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. Down here they stuff the crust with chocolate and I think I might be addicted. It's going to be very hard to not order it every day.  Some thoughts I had this week come from a quote but I can't remember who said it, but it says "how can we expect it to be easy for us when it was NEVER easy for Him" We will undoubtedly have trials in our life. And sometimes they might honestly really suck. If your...

June 28, 2021 Hey everyone! This won't be a super long email because I'm semi locked down and we don't get to do much that's worth writing about. One thing that did happen this week was that as we were walking down the little alley way to our front door, I was throwing the keys and they got stuck on a horizontal pillar that connects the two walls. We couldn't get into the house because the door was locked and we couldn't leave because the gate at the front of the alley already re locked! So, I took my shoes and socks off and spidermanned my way up there by pushing on both walls (kinda like in Emperors New Groove) and climbed up to get the keys. When I came back down my companion said something about his freaking crazy American comp, but it was kinda funny! I did, however, shred my hands because the stucco was so rough. Oh well. I've had a LOT of time to study this week and I want to testify to everyone about the eternal truths in the Book of Mormon. What rea...
