Yes Ammon, I am in Brazil!
Hello everyone! This was such a good week!!
We got to leave the house almost every day, and I got to meet so many people and see so much of the area! It's beautiful and I love it here. There is graffiti and big murals on all the walls here and I have pictures but they're on my camera and as of right now I have no way of getting them off there, so sorry everyone no pictures this week.
This week we discovered that the pizza place next to us was having a deal on their pizzas so we got two large pizzas for around 13 dollars and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. Down here they stuff the crust with chocolate and I think I might be addicted. It's going to be very hard to not order it every day.
Some thoughts I had this week come from a quote but I can't remember who said it, but it says "how can we expect it to be easy for us when it was NEVER easy for Him" We will undoubtedly have trials in our life. And sometimes they might honestly really suck. If your trial is training a new missionary, disobedient companions, mental health issues, learning a language, or whatever it might be, just know that "heaven is cheering you on yesterday today and forever" ( Elder Holland)
D&C 122:7-9 says
"7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
8 The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?
9 Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever."
I know each and every one of you who is struggling with something can have your burdens made light through prayer, and through the scriptures. Be patient through afflictions because God is aware of you! I love you all so much!
