Double Weekly
Hello everyone! Sorry I missed last week... but now you get one that's twice as fun!
The past couple weeks have been pretty hectic. but we got transfer calls and Elder Morata and I are together in the same ward for another transfer, so that's good news! Both of my housemates are leaving which is gonna be sad because I love them, but they're good missionaries so it makes sense that God needs them to reach more people.
This week we did a zone activity where we all spent an hour in each ward and everyone knocked different neighborhoods to find as many people as we could and it was fun! For every ward we switched companions and it was a pretty crazy time, but it was very spirit filled!
Elder Morata and I also had to make a facebook video and I had an idea I was really excited about for it, but Elder Morata also had an idea about it. The issue is that Elder Morata's idea made me be in front of the camera and I really don't like that video. But it's alright I guess. I'm not crazy about the video as a whole, but maybe I'll get to do my idea another time.
One fun lesson we had today was with our friend Rob. Rob has a girlfriend who is an inactive member, but her family is all active so they are a really good example for Rob. We went over for the lesson and her family was over and we got to talk to all of them and it was really really good and afterwards Rob told me (he talks to us separately on messenger instead of texting) that lesson felt a lot like he wants his family to be one day! He also read 2 Nephi 2 and I would invite everyone to go read it because it's an amazing chapter and he was talking about it and sending us pictures of the verses he liked and he is going to be an amazing member one day. He's so excited to be baptized once he marries Rachel (we don't know when they will) but first he wants to get a job and be a little more financially stable.
Today we went and hiked Eatonville Falls as a zone and it was really fun! It was a good little hike. Everything is so green here that it's hard to believe it's hardly even spring because I've been told it gets greener in the summer.
It's been a good little while and I'm excited to keep working in the good old Pioneer Valley.
A spiritual thought for today comes from 1 Kings 19:11-12
"And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."
God is not in the loud and distracting things going on in the world. We have to make a conscious effort to listen for and follow Him and hear what He needs to tell us. Also, watch Conference this weekend!
LOVE YOU ALL!!!
Elder McKee
