I only signed up for time, not eternity!

Hey yall! Crazy week here but that makes for better emails right? First off, this week I taught a gay couple about eternal marriage and families, and they accepted it! They were really funny and our conversation went a little like this (his name was Max) Max: OH you're American! Are you just here to find a Brazilian wife? Me: No I - Max: Are the girls in Brazil just not good enough for you?? (A couple minutes later) Max: So, your church wouldn't accept me anyway because I'm married to this man right here. Me: So, the girls in Brazil just aren't good enough for you? It was really good though but, before we got on the bus, we explained about how we marry for all of eternity and our beliefs about eternal families and that's when his husband said “Darling, I love you, but I only signed up for time, not eternity!" Other than that we were really busy this week trying to re contact with the interested people we met last week, but not a single one wanted to hear more. ...

A very long email. :)

Hello my friends! This week was very productive! We found a family last week that was taught before the pandemic and lost contact with missionaries when all of them were sent home, but we knocked their door and they were so excited to see us! We had a lesson with them and they basically taught us! We are going to start planning a baptismal date with the 3 kids, but the parents aren't married and are unable to be because they aren't technically Brazilian citizens. But, we can still help bring them closer to Christ! (Look grandma a second paragraph!) We also have a friend named Rael who's been investigating for a really long time. His Aunt and Uncle are in the ward and his best friend and girlfriend are members in the other ward, and he is good friends with most of the members. He's always been around but never really wanted to continue progressing. On Sunday we had a lesson with him and talked about our spiritual experiences and he had a lot to share! It was a really goo...

Hello everyone! I would just like it on the record that I DID write an email last week, but my Secretary and Editor forgot to get it out, that being said, the past 2 weeks were eventful! On Saturday's we visit our investigators and some members who need help finding the right path with our Ward Mission Leader, and this last Saturday we decided to clap some doors, and let me tell ya... It was fantastic! We only knocked 3 doors (that's not the only reason it was so good ;)) but on the 3rd, the guy knew exactly who we were, and he said "you're the Mormons right?" And his daughter yelled and said "No, they're missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!" It reminded me of what Elder Anderson said in General conference, "The name of the church is non-negotiable" It was really cool because this family was taught before the pandemic and lost contact with missionaries during the confusion of Covid, but they remember everything,...

So, last week I got my new companion, Elder Barrus, and he got a cold right as he got here. That meant we didn't leave too much and we contacted lots and lots on the phone. It's all good though because we set up lots of lessons for this week! One of the first things we did when he got here is buy a metal bar, 4 5 liter jugs of water, and about 90 pounds worth of concrete and we made ourselves a gym! I'm very excited to actually be able to do some more legit workouts. This week we had the opportunity to join in on a devotional with every mission in Brazil and Elder Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve spoke! It was very, very good. It testified to me that we have a prophet and apostles on this earth today who were called by God! How blessed are we?? We had a lesson last night and the lady we were teaching had lost her husband. She was so thankful for the message we were sharing because of the hope it gives her to live with and see him again, and even be sealed for eternity! Th...
