Hello everyone! Let me tell you a little bit about what its like to be an Office Elder.  This week we helped some elders move out of their apartment and into the new one. Then we went back and cleaned it out and got it ready to close. We also took a trip up to Forks to drop a couch off and it was so so beautiful! They filmed Twilight in Forks so there were things for Twilight all over the place.  Funny story…. we were pulling the trailer and it had a table and some chairs in it,  We were really hungry so we got Arbys. It is against mission rules to eat in the mission cars, so we unloaded the table and chairs and ate in the middle of a hobby lobby parking lot. Lots of people laughed at us, and waved.  This next week is Zone Conference week, so we have 3 conferences to help set up and run. It will be so fun, so more on that next week! I love you all so much! Elder McKee Companions are:  Elders Bell, Robinson, Riedlinger

Can't get rid of me!

Hey everyone,  I'm still in Washington! It's been a crazy week, so sit down pay attention, and let's catch up. On Wednesday we drove up to Tacoma and Elder Morata got his new companion and I went to the airport for a covid test with two other missionaries who were leaving. We got the test and then they went to check into their flight, but the office had my passport so I didn't do that. We got back to the office and I asked them for my passport and they thought I had it. I told them I haven't seen it since I mailed it for my visa. Eventually, we called Salt Lake and asked if they mailed it and they said they couldn't track it. We FINALLY figured out that there are TWO Elder Joshua McKee’s, who are both going to Brazil. The other Elder McKee got his visa but they were sending me flight plans, so now that that's sorted out I'm gonna be in Washington for a while longer. I did get moved to be an office Elder which basically means we help move out missionaries...

Crazy 3 weeks!

Josh's mom here:  I just wanted to document the craziness that has happened in the last three week.  It's been a roller coaster.   3  weeks  ago,  Josh was  told that his visa came  thru  and he will go to Brazil on May 6.  The same day the  church came  out and said that missionaries going out of the country are required to have the Covid Vaccine, or they will serve in their home countries.  I called the mission office and asked what Josh should do because he didn't have time to get the vaccine.  It takes 2 weeks between doses.  The nurse called Josh and told him he would just go to Brazil without the vaccine and get it down there since he doesn't have enough time to get it before going.   5 days later Josh's mission President called him and told he couldn't go to Brazil without the vaccine so his flight was on hold until he could get it.  The next day a member told him he could help him get the ...

Brazil....Eventually!

Hello from Washington still!  This week has been all over the place and now I'm living out of a suitcase. They told me I was flying out May 6, (Thursday) and then on Tuesday told me I had to spend Wednesday in Tacoma so i lost a day in my ward. I packed all my stuff super, super fast and spent all of Wednesday in Tacoma with the AP's and Office Elders. Then, Wednesday evening the first presidency decided that missionaries should be vaccinated for a week before they can fly out, so my flight got delayed a week. But, now I have flight information for the 13th, so yay! This week was weird because I said bye to everyone, then I was just right back, and i feel like I've been running around like a headless chicken for so long. But, hopefully for real I get to go on Thursday! I've loved all my time in Washington and I came into the most amazing zone and area, so I'm very, very happy i got to learn to be a missionary before i had to do it in Portuguese. This week we got all...
