Message from Tacoma
Dear Elder,
Congratulations on your re-assignment to serve in the Washington Tacoma Mission. First, thank you for coming back out to a different mission and finishing what the Lord has called you to do. This says a lot about you and the kind of disciple of Jesus Christ you are committed to be! We are excited to welcome you to one of the most wonderful missions in the world. The Tacoma area is not only incredibly beautiful, but there are many people here whom the Lord has prepared to receive the gospel and be baptized.
We understand that you were originally assigned to another country but know it is a privilege for us to have you join our mission. We will cheer you on and love you as if you had been here in Washington since the first day of your mission. We would ask you to read the talk by Elder David A. Bednar titled, "Called to the Work" from April 2017 General Conference.
When you arrive at the airport on 16 Feb 2021, Sister Metts and I will be there to welcome you with a warm greeting. However, please understand that the missionary department has asked that you wear your facemask and practice social distancing, to keep everyone safe, but also to help the public see missionaries of the church act in accordance with the current COVID-19 mandate of the State of Washington.
We learn from Preach My Gospel that we are "set apart from the world to a higher plane of thought and activity." As you focus your time and attention on serving the Lord, you will have the most wonderful experience of your life to date.
In Helaman 10:4, 5 it says: "Blessed art thou, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with unwearyingness declared the word, which I have given unto thee, unto this people...because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever."
Elders and Sisters, we know this is true. He will bless you not only now but as you continue to live the gospel of Jesus Christ everyday for the rest of your life.
We Are A Mission of:
High Love
High Trust
High Expectations
We love you,
President Christopher S. Metts
Sister Melody M. Metts
