Pathway to Mission

Josh has had an unusual path to his mission.  He had his physical exam in March 2020, and had an appointment for dental at the end of March.  The plan was for Josh to leave on his mission in June, after graduation.  Then Covid 19 hit, and everything started shutting down.  The dentist called and canceled appointment for the next couple months.  Current foreign missionaries were brought home, US missionaries were put on lockdown.  Malena is currently in Texas on a mission, and was in quarantine in her apartment for over 3 months.  The MTC's were closed, and eventually missionaries that were already called were doing at home MTC.  In the middle of the pandemic, everything changing, and uncertainty with future missionaries Josh decided to stay  home for the year and do some schooling and leave in January.  We waited for the dentist to open back up, worked on his papers, he kept meeting with the bishop, and he prepared for the 4 month window to submit his papers.

This was his interview with the bishop to send his papers to the Stake President.

Josh made the decision to take some online classes, and move to California to live with Grandma and Grandpa Munoa and restore a 1964  Barracuda.  This is the day he had an online interview with the Stake President.  He was ready to submit his papers to Salt Lake, but the President told him he needed a picture with a missionary hair cut.
Next day, September 21, new haircut, and papers are SUBMITTED TO SALT LAKE!!

Bishop sent this to Josh...His papers are ready for Assignment.  WOOHOO!!  Now we wait.
